The National Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Health and Welfare signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a cooperation agreement with Wangjing Hospital, affiliated with the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, to strengthen cooperation in the field of rehabilitation based on traditional medicine at the 18th Korea-China Traditional Medicine Cooperation Coordination Committee held in Beijing, China on December 12, 2025.
This agreement aims to systematically expand academic and clinical cooperation between the two institutions in the field of rehabilitation medicine using traditional medicine. The main contents include the exchange of materials related to rehabilitation based on traditional medicine, the exchange of medical experts and research personnel, and the promotion of joint cooperation projects. In particular, through the cooperation agreement, the Korea-China Traditional Medicine Rehabilitation Seminar will be held regularly to strengthen practical cooperation such as joint research and clinical exchanges.
The National Rehabilitation Center has been continuously promoting research and clinical application of rehabilitation based on traditional medicine as a national central institution for rehabilitation medicine for the disabled, while Wangjing Hospital has accumulated expertise and clinical experience in the field of Chinese rehabilitation.
Director Kang Yoon-gyu of the National Rehabilitation Center said that this agreement is an important opportunity to systematically strengthen rehabilitation cooperation based on traditional medicine between the two institutions, and that they will expand patient-centered rehabilitation medicine and international cooperation through regular seminars. The National Rehabilitation Center plans to expand joint research, education and training, and academic exchanges based on cooperation with Wangjing Hospital, and continuously discover new rehabilitation medical models through the integration of traditional medicine and modern rehabilitation medicine.
