The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced that it will award the Commissioner’s Commendation for outstanding patent counselors at the Patent Customer Consultation Center in Seo-gu, Daejeon, on December 16. This event was organized to commemorate the center surpassing 14 million cumulative consultations and being selected as an excellent call center in the central government service quality evaluation.
The award recipients were selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of their consultation performance, expertise, and customer praise. The selected counselors were recognized for their contributions to improving customer satisfaction by providing high-quality consultation services from patent application to examination and registration, and continuously managing the quality of consultation services.
KIPO provides various high-quality services through phone consultations via the Patent Customer Consultation Center’s main number, as well as chat consultations and chatbot consultations for inquiries related to patents, trademarks, and designs. As of November 2025, the cumulative number of consultations is approximately 14.32 million, significantly contributing to the development of the industry by providing customized services for all aspects of industrial property administration.
Jae-Hwan Jeong, Director General of the Intellectual Property Information Bureau at KIPO, expressed gratitude for the counselors’ hard work, emphasizing that they are the hidden supporters of patent customers’ growth. He also stated that KIPO will continue to communicate with the public through the Patent Customer Consultation Center and strive to improve administrative services and promote proactive administration.
