The Ministry of National Defense has appointed Jung Bitna as the new spokesperson effective December 15, 2025. Jung Bitna joined Yonhap News Agency in 2011 and has worked as a reporter, including as a correspondent in Brussels.
Notably, from 2020 to 2022, she covered defense policies and the military as a correspondent for the Ministry of National Defense, gaining deep understanding and insight into the defense and security fields. The new spokesperson will effectively communicate defense policies to the public while serving as a bridge between the Ministry of National Defense, the media, and the public.
She is expected to contribute to restoring trust in the military by actively engaging with the public, leveraging her experience as a young journalist.
