On December 12, the Ministry of National Defense held the ’25 Defense Budget Execution Review Meeting, chaired by Vice Minister Lee Doo-hee. The meeting was attended by key financial officials, including deputy chiefs of staff from each military branch, directors from relevant departments of the Ministry of National Defense, and the head of the National Military Finance Management Corps, and took place in the main conference room of the Ministry of National Defense headquarters.
Vice Minister Lee emphasized the importance of successfully concluding this year’s defense budget execution management to continue the momentum of the new government’s economic recovery. He carefully reviewed the execution status of major projects promoted this year with the attendees.
Additionally, Vice Minister Lee urged thorough preparations for the execution of the ’26 budget, including finalizing project plans by December so that the budget can be executed starting in January, given that next year’s budget was quickly confirmed.
The Ministry of National Defense will focus all efforts on budget execution management until the end of the year and will continue to review execution status through execution review meetings to enhance the execution rate of the defense budget, contributing to economic recovery and growth.
