The Ministry of Justice (Minister Jeong Seong-ho) held the first plenary meeting of the ‘Special Committee on Criminal Law Reform’ at 11:00 AM on December 12 (Friday) in the main conference room of the Government Complex Gwacheon.
The launch of this special committee marks the first step towards a major reform of criminal law in approximately 70 years, aiming to improve the overall criminal law system and the operation of the penal system.
Through this meeting, the Ministry of Justice plans to thoroughly review the current state of the criminal law system and the operation of the penal system, and to prepare practical improvement measures based on this review.
